COACH: TITE (Age: 57, Team: Brazil):
After Brazil’s humiliation in 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Copa America, Tite was appointed as Brazil coach. Ever since, the team has undergone a remarkable transformation and the Tite has brought in solidity to the Brazil squad without sacrificing their natural football flair.
GOALKEEPER
(CAPTAIN) DAVID DE GEA
(Age: 27, Team: Spain, Club: Man United)
The competition for the goalkeeper slot was between Spain’s David de Gea and Germany’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Since Manuel Neuer is slowly regaining his fitness, chances are that Ter Stegan might warm the benches in Russia which gives de Gea an edge over the German. Also, the shot-stopper has established himself over the last few seasons as arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. Though De Gea was part of Spain squad in the 2014 World Cup, he didn’t get any playing time as Iker Casillas stood below the bar.
