Avoidable flight diversions: DGCA issues notice to Air India and SpiceJet for 'not rostering trained pilots to Delhi' during foggy period

The DGCA has issued show cause notice to Air India and SpiceJet for not rostering CAT III compliant pilots, resulting in flight diversions during low visibility hours in Delhi. The notice requires a response within 14 days. Previously, 58 flights were diverted due to captains not being trained for low visibility conditions. DGCA verified this with airline and ATC data and subsequently issued the notice. The action aims to prevent a recurrence of flight disruptions caused by lack of CAT III pilots during foggy conditions in Delhi.
